About the Challenge

What exactly does it mean to eat “clean”?

Before we start on the challenge I would like to explain a bit about smooth-maniaclean eating. First of all, clean eating is not a diet. It’s a lifestyle. And everybody should consider it to do it. We live in times with a big dose of stress on the daily base, we have less time for a quality sleep, less time to cook and we’re giving to little attention to ourselves by taking care of others. But we shouldn’t forget to put us on the first place. This way is the only way to help others at best!

 

 

Some time ago I came across this beautiful quote:

 

“Make yourself a priority. At the end of a day, you’re your longest commitment.”

But, let’s go back to the “clean eating”. Clean eating stands for food that is not processed and is in more or less in its natural shape. It doesn’t mean you eat raw, but there is quite some veggies and fruit on the menu in a combination with quinoa, sweet potato, rice and good meat and fish. By “good” I mean good quality, organic if possible, directly from a farmer. However we should avoid all the pre-prepared meals, foods that have labels with very difficult ingredient names, foods that are in unnatural colors and specially foods that are full of (hidden) sugar!

The point of this challenge is to make you aware of the food you’re eating every day. You might eat this way already and you might want to join for fun, to find out some new recipes, maybe to share with us your recipes, out of curiosity. Or you might want to get to know with it, than you’re at the right place.

 

About the “Challenge”

Everyone can participate. Everything you will get to hear, everything you will find out, experience and try out, is at your own “risk”. I am no doctor or scientist but I do know a lot about this kind of lifestyle and I know it can only do good for you!

The secret behind the Clean eating Lifestyle

  • You learn the eating pattern, by eating at least 5 meals a day
  • You feel better, you look better, skin gets more glow
  • By feeling better you can concur the days much easier, with better motivation, more energy, less stress and easier dealing with daily activities
  • By all this, you will feel happier and of course the most important – healthier (that is all what matters right?)

Challenge instructions

  • Like @Babe on a Run on social media, like Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest and/or Twitter
  • Go to the website Babe on a Run and subscribe yourself to the Newsletter (you find it on the home page, on the right site, where you type in your name and email address), to avoid missing a thing about the whole thing & to get the instructions on time

Done? Good. How the Challenge is going to look like:

  1. Every Thurday (first one comes 28th of January) you’ll receive an email with the link to the online Pdf brochure to download. There will be instructions for the coming week: *shopping list for the food for one person, for the whole week, *menu for the whole week, for 5 meals a day, *links and/or suggestions for easy to make recipes, * water glasses count, *week agenda to be filled in by you, *doodle drawing (more about it follows later)
  2. Every day there will be different posts on all social medias about healthy lifestyle, clean eating, sport activities, mind set, motivation, habits, alternatives for bad foods, etc
  3. There are few new Instagram hastags open, on purpose for all of you to participate with your ideas, struggles, achievements, selfies or just with whatever you feel like. Feel welcome to give us some feedback about our project 😉
