You don’t have to eat less, you just have to eat right

Often we’re confused that when loosing weight we need to cut on food portions and expect that it should work. Well, it’s not really true and definitely not the right way of thinking.

First of all, healthy lifestyle is not a diet; it’s a way of life. What is the perfect way it’s difficult to say, because we’re all different and beside that, certain food which known as good, healthy food could be for somebody with allergy reactions on it useless.

So, how do we know what to eat then and what are the right portions? Let me say it like this for a better picture. If you’re used of eating fast food and decide to go on a diet to loose couple of pounds it wont be the best way to smaller the portions of fast food. You might loose weight but you will still feel like crap and beside that you will get a yo-yo effect when making portions bigger again. That is because fast food has very little good nutrition. And this food won’t give you the energy for focus, daily activities and a good mood.

We need real food. We need the right amount of proteins, carbs and fats. We need the right ratio of macronutrients. That means that there has to be enough meat/fish/legume (protein), rice/potato/pasta (carbs), vegetable and fruit on your plate. Each single group of food gives certain amount of vitamines, minerals and value for the right functioning of your body.

To try to picture it better; a half full plate of fast food won’t give you what 2 full plates of right macronutrients will. And for easier understanding; for the same amount of calories that you consume with a piece of cake (stuffed with butter, white flour, sugar and cream) you will need to eat a good stake or fish, 1/3 of a plate oven baked potato and a ½ of a plate of vegetables. So do you understand? For loosing weight you don’t need to eat less, you just have to eat right. We need to find alternatives for the “bad “ food.

Depend on what are you used to eat, that is how it will go with changing the habits you have. For someone that consumes in general a lot of sugar (not only in sweets but as well the hidden sugar in savory products) will be these healthy cakes for the beginning not sweet enough. But do yourself a favor and give it a time. When you will adjust to the new flavors you will see how much more flavors are in each meal! That’s when you taste the real food, by eating a peace of healthier cake you will taste so many more ingredients that just sugar and butter like in every ordinary cake.

So, I suggest you give yourself a chance and take the challenge in bringing some changes in your eating pattern. I promise you wont regret it! 😉
