My running history

There are anti-sport people, randomly active people, professionals and those like me sport addicted people. I know I am not doing everything the way I should, but I will try my best to work hard on it, for myself and for all of you. Daily activity is important!

I run since I remember. There were pauses, there were also years between of runs that were just occasional. But in 2009 I started with a thought in my head, that this time I am going to continue no matter what. And I did. More I was running, more I wanted to continue. I got totally addicted to running and there was no bad weather for me anymore. I just loved it. Sometimes I came back home from a long run and after a shower I could go again. In 2012 I hit the wall and by the doctor I had to take a 4 months brake. A brake!! What the hell does the break means? I was allowed to go for a walk, as long as it was a walk with somebody, so that I couldn’t speed up and find myself running again. I was devastated. I thought I am going to loose everything I build in last years.

It’s a long story and a “long” struggle in those 4 months but somehow I survived. And I became healthier and I’ve learned a lot. I was curious and I searched all over what is going on in our body, what is happening with our hormones that we reach the stage of a “body burn out”. But I will come back to the results during the coming posts.

What I actually wanted to say is that I did began to run again after 4 months but with a bigger care for my body and myself personally. What has changed big time is that in April 2013 I got a job on a luxury yacht as a Hotel manager and my running condition went lower and lower and lower. I couldn’t pick it up again. Simply by working on a prestige yacht takes all the time you have, by working as well 20h/day and simply there is no time for training and maintain your habits. All you have is working. So from my “very high level” of being well prepared for long distance runs went all the way to the bottom. Although I left the yacht and it’s way of working in January 2015, I still have big struggles of coming back. Because of physically intensive work onboard I had enormous troubles first with my knees (regeneration took about 4 months) and lately enormous pain in my feet.

I am still dedicated to running, I still enormously adore it, but I can’t run more then 6 to 8 km. If I have a good day I make it to 10 km. So if I compare the stage where I was just 2 and a half years ago and now? It’s a huge difference. But never the less, we’re all learning and experiencing different situations. I know how I have to continue and how I have to build it up, but on this journey I would like to take you with me. All of you who are at least a little bit interested in running, those who run already, those who would like to become fit, those who would like to loose weight, participate on a competition… I love it and I will try to tell you everything I know about it, so that you can start feeling it as well and your run will become fun and not a “must” or a struggle. Running has to be a habit where you enjoy!
