“Speculaas” spices

Dutch winter spices which remind me on Christmas and bring out warm memories. Sitting by the fireplace together with my family while opening the presents.

In the Netherlands they’re using them in all kind of cookies and most probably you came across Speculaas cookies in your country as well. Very particular smell and taste. I use these spices in Chai Latte – it’s awesome! <3 And this week Tim used them in the Santa Claus soup. Yes! He made soup that fits perfect for this time of a year. Speculaas spices
(Dutch spices)

 

8 parts of cinnamon powder

2 parts of ground cloves

2 parts of grated nutmeg

1 part of white pepper

2 parts of aniseed (star anis)

1 part of ginger powder

1 part of cardamom powder
